Fred Kamphues of www.millhouse.nl has posted some great photos of the currently active Icelandic volcano on his website. These were shot with the Nikon D3 and D2X.

Photojournalist Scout Tufankjian used the Nikon D3 and a set of "battered, but fast prime lenses" to capture a series of great photos during the Barack Obama presidential campaign. The photos can be seen on her website or by purchasing the hardcover book: "Yes We Can".

Nikon engineer Hiroshi Takeuchi discusses the merits of Nikon's new Scene Recognistion System introduced with the D3 and D300 cameras.  The Scene Recognition system allows the camera to analyze the components of an image, much the way a photographer's brain does, thereby improving focus, exposure and white balance. Thanks to Nikon trainer Mike Hagen of Out There Images for uploading this clip demonstrating the D3's amazing frame rate capabilities. It's made from a series of 168 photographs taken in Continuous High (CH) at 11 frames per second (fps). The D3 will take 130 frames in a row until it stops and then you have to let your finger up and press down on the shutter release
to take another 130 photos. The total duration of the sequences is approximately 15 seconds long.

A limited number of Sigma lenses when used with the new Nikon D3 digital SLR camera will not support the "Auto DX crop" function. To overcome this problem Sigma will be supplying a free upgrade to existing customers.

These photos were shot by well-known photographers such as Tony Bock, Nick Didlick, David Einsel and Peter K. Burian, who were recruited by Nikon to test their new flagship camera.
