NOOR, Nikon and the Cape Town School of Photography invite photographers to submit their portfolio for selection for the 2012 NOOR-Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography.

The NOOR Foundation and Nikon Europe BV (http://www.europe-nikon.com/) support documentary photographers from emerging markets all over the world through the organization of annual motivational masterclasses. We highly appreciate the support of the Cape Town School of Photography (http://ctsp.co.za/) hosting this year's program.

The masterclass is accessible to young and aspiring documentary photographers and photojournalists who are South African or are from the SADC (Southern African Development Community) region with a valid passport.

Established and aspiring concert photographers take note! Nikon and NikonLive have been sponsoring live music concerts at Jones Beach Theater in New York for much of the summer with artists like the Goo Goo Dolls and Aretha Franklin performing for the crowds and giving lots of photographers a chance to get great concert shots. Along with the concert series, Nikon is also sponsoring a photo contest, where you can win VIP tickets, airfare, and hotel for an upcoming event at the Nikon theater by submitting your best concert photo. Five of the worldʼs best mountain bike photographers gathered last week in Åre, Sweden, for the second edition of the Scandinavian Photo Challenge by Nikon. After three days of shooting in everything from pouring rain to scorching sunshine, followed by two days of editing, the results were shown in front of 700 spectators. The winner: Camilla Stoddart.
